These elevators ARE NOT usable in the home because they are TOO LOUD!!! They sound like 5 large shop vacs operating at the same time! That's why they made this video with music playing instead of the actual sound of the elevator. They are EXTREMELY LOUD...so loud that they aren't practical for use in a normal residence. Don't be fooled. These elevators are VERY VERY LOUD!!!
Wish I could find someone that will come out and service this. I've been told if they didn't put in they will not service it. Has been a good product for 20 years but stopped on me 1 month ago and can't get ANYONE to service it.

This looks cool , I wonder if there's a 2 passenger version of this because my mom and my dad live in a 2 story house and there at that age that it's not safe for them to be going up and down the stairs safely all the time
The PVE 52 can accommodate two passengers.

Unless you're disabled it seems like the stairs would be faster.
The soundtrack doesn't fit at all because vacuum elevators are more modern themed.
I wanted to have one of these installed in my home, but they're not yet allowed by Massachusetts building codes.
Update: I recently learned that Elevator Service Co., Torrington, CT is authorized to install PVE elevators in Massachusetts.

This elevator is operating at approximately 950 mbars, a vacuum cleaner operates at approximately 800 mbars and water boils at 37 degrees when exposed to 63 mbars. What is the system of security if de vacuum bomb is crash, or if the energy is off?
Only minor fault that may occur is called Extreme VACUUM SUCTION. It will evacuate your brain from your ear orifices. BUT this will happen instantly and you will not even have time to notice it occurred. Enjoy.

I love this elevator so much that I installed one in my home. It is the best. I don't have to carry my dogs up (two of them have problems). I trained them to use the elevator.

@greenteagod if you got stuck at the top or bottom you could open the door... I mean half way in the tube. If you where stuck between foors would you be able to lower yourself slowly so you could reach a door and exit safely? Also its a general inquiry...no need to be sarcastic....I wonder if you thought about being stuck halfway in a polycarbonate tube with no air and no excape??

I saw these things before. They seem nice but I wonder if your home alone and if you got stuck inside for long periods would you suffocate inside this thing as it needs to be sealed to work?
Actually, there are larger models that fit a wheelchair. You can see them on the company's website. I can't speak to how easy it is to open the door and get in via chair, but they do have tubes that fit them.

I want this installed in my house. When I am older and creaky in the legs and knees, I'll be able to use my upstairs and basement when I can't get up or down the stairs anymore. Love this! Gonna tell all my older friends. New housing should include these.
